'Wow Moments' at Home
As you are aware, each child in the Early Years Foundation Stage has their own individual learning journals where we record your child’s development and progress. To help us gain an understanding of your child’s learning journey we would like you to record your child’s ‘WOW’ moments that happen beyond the school gate. ‘WOW’ sheets can be completed by parents/carers or any adult who has been given responsibility for your child outside of school hours e.g. grandparents, other close relatives and child-minders. We also welcome photographs, pictures, writing or any other evidence to support the contents of the ‘WOW’ sheets. For example; when reading at home with your child, they sound out a word correctly, that you first thought might be too difficult, or, during swimming lessons, they completed 5 metres for the first time without armbands, or your child may have written their name for the first time by themselves.
When you have written down your child’s ‘WOW’ moment, just pop them in your child’s book bag so the ‘WOW’ sheet can be shared in class and then can be added to their learning journal.

We are looking forward to hearing about all the ‘WOW’ moments you have with your child, and as always, if you have any questions or queries, please ask.
