COVID-19 Information

If your child has one or more of the main coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms listed below, please do not send them to school.   In this instance, the person with symptoms must obtain a PCR test * (bookable online or via 119).

* NB: Lateral Flow Tests (the type you can perform at home using the free kits) are not to be used when symptoms are present.  A PCR test must be booked in this instance.

Notify the school as soon as possible of your child's absence (by 9:00am) and again when you have received the test result.

If your child develops one of the main coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms in school, you will be contacted to arrange immediate collection from school.  Whilst they are awaiting collection, your child will be moved to an area away from other people, where they will be supervised by a member of staff wearing PPE.  Please arrange for your child to be PCR tested.

The main symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are:

  • a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
  • a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
  • a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
