SAFEGUARDING INFORMATION
St Katherine's CE Primary School and Nursery is committed to the highest standards in protecting and safeguarding the children entrusted to our care.
Our school will support all children by:
1. Promoting a caring, safe and positive environment within the school
2. Encouraging self-esteem and self-assertiveness
3. Effectively tackling bullying and harassment
4. Promoting all aspects of the Equality Act 2010
We have an expectation that all staff and visitors to our school will behave in a way which ensures our children are safeguarded at all times. This expectation involves a duty for any safeguarding concerns to be reported.
|
Everyone working with our children, their parents and carers should be aware
-Their role is to listen and note carefully any observations which could indicate abuse
-They should not attempt to investigate once the initial concern is raised
-They should involve the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) immediately
-If the DSL is not available, a Deputy DSL should be contacted
-Disclosures of abuse or harm from children may be made at any time
-If there are any concerns about a member of staff, this must be shared with the Headteacher and not the DSL. If you have concerns about the Headteacher, then you should speak to the Chair of Governors, Rev. Marion Walford
If anything worries you or concerns you, away.
"St Katherines C.E. Primary School has successfully evidenced that safeguarding policy and practice are exceptional. Leaders at all levels consistently prioritise safeguarding and rigorously monitor procedures and practice. There is a clear ethos that everyone in the school including visitors has a responsible role to play in keeping children safe." Outstanding Safeguarding Mark, Verification Report
