Welcome to St Katherine’s Nursery
At St Katherine’s Nursery we are lucky to have our own self-contained nursery class. Our setting is bright, spacious and calm, with access to a newly developed, exciting outdoor area. The nursery is well resourced and encourages our children to approach all of our play based opportunities with curiosity, energy and enthusiasm.
Children join our Nursery the September following their third birthday. There is space for 30 children in our nursery class. We offer morning sessions and all day sessions for those who are eligible. We work closely with our families to give our children the very best, settled and positive start to life here at St Katherine’s. We follow the same term times and holidays as the main school and the children wear school uniform.
We have a skilled and experienced team including a nursery teacher and learning support assistants who are experts in the care and education of young children. Our children are at the heart of all that we do; we use their individual needs, interests and experiences, along with our Christian values as the basis for all learning and development.
We focus on the prime areas of learning by developing each child’s personal, social and emotional skills. This helps them to feel confident and to achieve their potential in all areas of learning. We nurture their communication and language skills and encourage their physical development through fun, play based activities. We also introduce the children to the specific areas of learning, which are literacy, mathematics, understanding the world and expressive arts and design.
Nursery Timings from September 2022:
8:45am Arrival time for all of our Nursery children
11:45am Home time for children attending the morning session only
2:55pm Home time for children attending the all day session
