Rule of Law

The importance of laws, whether they be those that govern the class, the school or the country, are consistently reinforced throughout the regular school day.  Children are taught the value and reasons behind laws, that they govern and protect us, the responsibilities that this involves and the consequences when laws are broken.

  • At the beginning of each year each class agrees a set of rules with their peers and the teacher.  These are then displayed in class and referred to as necessary.

  • Children are helped to learn to manage their behaviour and take responsibility for their actions. We help children to understand the connection between actions and consequences; rights and responsibilities.

Visits from the fire service, road safety experts and the police help us to reinforce this message.
