NB: It is the responsibility of parents to apply for a school place at the correct times. You will not receive any letters from Essex County Council (ECC) to inform you that you must apply for your child’s school place.

The Essex County Council online application facility usually opens in September of the year children move into Year 6 (please see the link above for details).
Your postal/online application MUST be complete and with Essex County Council no later than the deadline set by ECC, usually by 31st October in which your child is in Year 6 (statutory national closing date). After this deadline date, your application will be treated as late.
The National Offer Date is usually 1st March of the year your child is in Year 6.

11+ Examination
NB: If you wish to apply for a school which requires the 11+ exam to be taken, please see the Consortium of Selective Schools in Essex website for information on the 11+ process and dates. Please be aware that there is a long lead time on registering for the 11+ so please ensure that you check the requirements and dates when your child is in Year 5.
